Nuestra forma de ver:
Las fotografías de boda cuentan una historia, llena de anécdotas y emociones. Los momentos serán únicos tengan o no unas buenas fotografías, pero si las tienen, esos momentos prevalecerán incluso cuando se nublen en la memoria. Incluso cuando lo vean las generaciones siguientes, las que no lo vivieron pero lo sentirán igualmente parte de su historia. Para nosotros es un reto constante, por esta razón nuestra forma de contar la historia de una boda es fotoperiodística, manteniéndonos en un plano discreto y captando como espectadores las situaciones más llamativas y emotivas de una forma natural .Esto no quita que nos encante cuidar los detalles, todos esos pequeños complementos que se han pensado, tienen su propia historia y por ello un espacio especial en los recuerdos. Nuestras sesiones de pareja son sencillas, íntimas y relajadas, evitando los estereotipos y posados forzados. Complicidad y amor es lo que nos motiva en estas fotos. Para completar, por qué no divertirnos y divertir?? Con esas fotografías graciosas y espontáneas que son irrepetibles y que siempre nos dejarán “buen sabor de boda”. La creatividad no tiene límites.
Our way of seeing things:
A wedding is a story to be told, full of anecdotes and emotions. Regardless of whether the photographs are good or not, the moments will be fleeting. If, however, the photographs are good, those precious split seconds will remain fresh and clear when memories begin to blur. Future generations, who could not be there on the day, will be able to feel part of the celebration and the joy of the occasion. Each wedding is a new challenge, where we strive to make the photographs exclusive to each experience and that is why we try to document the day in a photojournalistic style, staying unobtrusive and capturing the most memorable and emotional scenes as attentive spectators. This does not mean that we pay no mind to the details, all those little things which often mean so much and have their own story. Our couples’ photos are simple and relaxed, you as the bridal couple are centre stage and you shine through.
Nuestra evolución:
Durante los años que hemos trabajado para otros fotógrafos de bodas, hemos podido aprender muchísimo sobre lo que nos gustaría y no nos gustaría hacer como equipo al formar AiS Fotógrafos. Estamos muy agradecidos con estos profesionales porque con sus aciertos y errores han modelado una parte de AiS. También nos sentimos enormemente agradecidos con la Escuela de artes aplicadas Nº10, Efti, Look y Stockport College donde nos hemos podido formar en fotografía artística y diversas técnicas. En su día no apreciamos tanto como ahora lo mucho que aprendimos.
Hace cuatro años emprendimos una carrera de fondo, enseñar nuestra forma de ver. Inspirados por los más grandes fotógrafos de bodas internacionales comenzamos a modelar nuestro propio estilo creativo, un estilo que como nosotros a nivel personal, esta en constante evolución y que madura como maduran nuestras mentes, nuestras ideas y nuestra perspectiva de la vida. Esperamos que mejore siempre.
Actualmente se está produciendo en España un gran movimiento en la fotografía de bodas, una nueva ola con excelentes fotógrafos creativos, con quienes estamos orgullosos de compartir profesión y poder intercambiar opiniones e ideas.
How we’ve evolved:
When we formed AiS Photographers we were very aware that the years we had spent learning our craft, working with other wedding photographers, had taught us – often by trial and error – what we were and were not trying to achieve as a team. We are indebted to them for all the experience we were able to gather from those collaborations and know our ideas were shaped at that time.
We also feel grateful to Nº10 Applied Arts School, Efti and Look in Madrid and Stockport College in Manchester where we’ve been able to further our different photographic and artistic techniques. We did not appreciate then as much as we do now how much we really learned.
Four years ago we started out on our long distance race, developing and honing our concept of the type of photography we wanted to offer. Inspired by the best international wedding photographers we started to mould our own style, a style that like us – on a personal level – is in constant evolution and which matures as do our minds, our ideas and our outlook on life. We shall continue to make every effort to explore the creative possibilities open to us, to offer to all the couples who trust us with a record of their special day,a unique and sparkling memento to treasure. At the moment there is a great movement in wedding photography in Spain, a new wave of excellent creative photographers, we are proud to be in the same business and be able to exchange opinions and ideas with them.
El tema del año y el de siempre: El presupuesto.
El presupuesto es un tema muy recurrente. Os comentamos aquí la reflexión que nos dejó Carlos Guzman, colega de profesión, hace pocos días al respecto y que nos encantó: “porcentajes”
Puede que haya un gran porcentaje de fotógrafos convencionales, lógicamente comparten un rango de presupuesto. Luego habrá un porcentaje menor de otros fotógrafos con un trabajo personal y creativo. Aquí la gran diferencia es que se elige al fotógrafo por su estilo y su trabajo, porque es lo que hace ese fotógrafo en cuestión lo que realmente quiere la pareja para su boda. Los presupuestos pueden ser más variables. En estos casos no se trata solamente de tiempo de trabajo, gastos de material o equipo, sino de contratar “una forma de ver”. Finalmente habrá un mínimo de fotógrafos de élite solo al alcance de unos pocos y de los que aprendemos muchos. Nos parece fundamental que las parejas sepan y puedan elegir en cual de estos rangos están buscando a su fotógrafo y por qué.
The subject of the year and every year: the budget.
The question of budget crops up again and again. Carlos Guzman, a fellow photographer, mentioned something about that the other day which we really liked.
The majority of the market is made up of standard photographers who all share a price range.
Then there is another small group of photographers who have a personal and creative style. Here it is a case of choosing the photographer or team according to their style and work. Budgets are more variable but logically higher than in the larger group. The cost is not for a number of hours, materials or equipment (although that is part of it), the main aspect – which is the key – is a “look”, that stamp of individuality which can be as recognizable as a designer label. Then there are the elite photographers who only very few can hire and who many of us learn from. We believe that it is crucial that couples identify which of these ranges of photographers they are looking for and why.
En este sentido tenemos varias preguntas clave que nos parecen importantes a la hora de asignar un presupuesto a las fotografías de la boda:
We have a number of key questions which we think are important when you allot a budget to your wedding photos:
Cuánto valen tus recuerdos? Muchas veces se ha preguntado a gente que es lo primero que salvarían de su casa si estuviera en llamas, la respuesta más habitual es “las fotografías” casi todo lo demás se puede comprar pero las imágenes de los momentos más importantes de nuestra vida no tienen precio y son irrepetibles.
How much are your memories worth? Studies show that the one thing most people would save from their burning home is the family photos, or nowadays their laptop or harddrive on which their photos are stored. Everything else can be replaced but the most important moments of our lives are priceless and irreplaceable.
Cuánto es mucho y comparado con qué? El presupuesto para las fotografías de una boda sólo es una parte del presupuesto total de una boda. Todo es una cuestión de reparto. Recomendamos hacer una lista de prioridades por orden, si las fotos están entre los tres primeros puestos, escoge el trabajo que realmente te guste y si es necesario reduce por otro lado, todo lo demás quedará atrás, las fotos estarán en tus manos y en las de tus nietos. No te quedes con las ganas.
How much is too much and compared with what? The budget for the photographs of a wedding is just a part of the total budget. Each part has its place. We recommend you make a list in order of priority, if the photos are one of the first three, choose the work you really like and if necessary cut back on something else. Everything else will fade with time, the photos will still be there and will even still be there for your grandchildren. Don’t economise on the only way to hold these memories forever, you might well regret it later.
Cantidad o calidad? Las dos cosas, pero puestos a elegir calidad. Es mejor tener un trabajo único y muy especial, que miles de fotos y álbumes de mala calidad. No importa si ves 100 o 2000 fotografías, lo importante es que todas te gusten.
Quantity or quality? Everyone would want – indeed feels that they deserve both, but if you have to choose – it has to be quality every time . It’s better to have a special one-off piece of work, rather than thousands of photos and various albums of less than desirable quality. It’s not important if you see a few hundred or a few thousand photos, what counts is whether you like them and do they capture who you are and the unique moments of your wedding day?
Un fotógrafo, dos fotógrafos, equipo de repuesto? Equipo de repuesto fundamental, segundo fotógrafo es cuestión de cada fotógrafo o incluso de las necesidades de cada boda. Es algo que en todo caso debe valorar el fotógrafo conociendo las características de la boda, para las parejas los fundamental es tener la tranquilidad y la seguridad de que el trabajo final va a ser lo que esperan vaya uno o dos fotógrafos.
Esperamos ir ampliando esta sección poco a poco y sobre todo que sea de utilidad, despeje dudas y enriquezca en todos los sentidos. Estamos totalmente abiertos a opiniones tanto de parejas como de otros fotógrafos, nuevas preguntas para compartir y para resolver.
One photographer, two photographers, back-up equipment? Back-up equipment is a given, a second shooter comes down to each photographer and even down to each wedding. It is something that the photographer has to weigh up taking into consideration the type of wedding and their personal shooting style, but for the couple the key aspect has to be that they are sure that the end product will be what they expect, whether they have one or two photographers.
We shall be adding to this section as time goes on and look forward to feedback from couples and fellow photographers and to responding to any queries which might crop up.
